Oregon Hosts Aviation Delegation from South Korea to Advance International Collaboration and Innovation
By Business Oregon,
press release,
The State of Oregon, including Business Oregon and the Oregon Department of Aviation, will host a high‑level South Korean aviation delegation on July 26–30, 2026, to explore investment, research, and commercial partnership opportunities across the aviation, uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS), and advanced air mobility (AAM) sectors.
The delegation is comprised of approximately 25 government, industry, and research representatives from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport; the Korea Institute of Aviation Safety Technology; and leading aviation companies. The delegation will visit aviation hubs across the state, including Portland, Scappoose, Pendleton, Hermiston, Hood River, and Tillamook and will participate in technical briefings, B2B meetings, manufacturing demonstrations, and tours of key aviation and technology facilities.
Oregon aims to become the premier U.S. launch point for South Korean aviation and adjacent companies by showcasing the state’s aviation infrastructure, skilled workforce, and opportunities for testing, manufacturing, and bringing new aviation technologies to market. This visit will illustrate Oregon’s ability to support innovation at every stage, from research and development to deployment and commercialization, and will highlight Oregon’s statewide airport system, regulatory support, industry clusters, and UAS and AAM testing and manufacturing capabilities. These efforts aim to attract international investment, create high-quality jobs, and strengthen Oregon’s growing aerospace industry.
During their time in Oregon, delegation members will meet with Business Oregon Director Sophorn Cheang and the agency’s Business Recruitment team, other government leaders, industry partners, researchers, and aviation stakeholders to explore opportunities for collaboration in UAS, AAM, aerospace manufacturing, and workforce development. These discussions will help build long-term relationships, encourage innovation, and lay the groundwork for future partnerships. This visit from the South Korean aviation delegation supports Business Oregon’s work to solidify Oregon as the preferred U.S. launch point for South Korean aviation companies and a leading destination for manufacturing, testing, and advancing the next generation of aviation technologies.
