U.S. Chamber of Commerce Chief Policy Officer, Neil Bradley, released the following statement in regards to the Supreme Court hearing on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA):
“It is extremely disappointing that we’ve reached a point where Congress has left the future of hundreds of thousands of young people to a decision by the U.S. Supreme Court. Stripping DACA recipients of their ability to legally live and work in the country will harm them, their employers, their families, and their communities,” said Bradley.
The Chamber hopes that the U.S. Supreme Court protects these individuals, but the fact remains that only Congress has the power to truly solve this issue. The House passed the American Dream and Promise Act this summer, now the Senate should act, and Congress should send bipartisan legislation to the president for his signature.”
