7 Columbia Sportswear jackets recalled over “Burn Risk”

Portland-based, Columbia Sportswear has voluntarily recalled seven styles of heated jackets which were sold worldwide from May, 2012 to January, 2013 via major retailers, sporting or outdoor stores and ecommerce sites. The company reports a small number of jackets “may contain a heated inner wrist cuff component with a manufacturing flaw that may cause an electrical short to occur, giving rise to a potential burn risk.” If you believe you purchased a recalled jacket, or if you are unsure, discontinue use, disconnect batteries from the battery pack and call the hotline number: 1-866-201-9073. The following is a list of recalled jackets. Style numbers can be found on both white labels sewn in the left- inside seam.
