Alliance board of directors endorses Sam Chase for Metro Council seat

The Portland Business Alliance board of directors today announced its endorsement of Sam Chase in the race for Metro Council District 5 that represents Northeast Portland.
“The Alliance has worked with Sam on a number of issues over the years during his time as a Portland City Council staff member and we feel like he has a strong understanding of the issues that impact job creation and economic growth,” said Mitch Hornecker, chair of the Alliance’s Government Relations Executive Committee.
“We also appreciate Sam’s most recent experience as a low income housing developer and his insight into the impact that local fees and taxes have on the affordability of development projects,” said Hornecker.
“Jobs create opportunity for people to succeed in life,” said Sam Chase. “I look forward to working with the Portland Business Alliance on housing and industrial lands strategies that build our globally competitive economy.”
Alliance board endorsements are based on a process that includes candidate interviews conducted by its endorsement committee, followed by a vote by the full board. Two-thirds of the board members present must agree before an endorsement is made.
