Can Mariotta TV ads save Subway?

In the last 30 days Subway has suffered the death of their co-founder and CEO (2) endured its worst negative publicity in its 50 year history and (3) saw a decline in revenue for the first time in a decade. At the same time their new TV ad pitchman, former Oregon Ducks quarterback and Heisman winner, Marcus Mariotta made a historic NFL opening. As the four subway ads were released this month, Mariotta made four touchdown passes on his first day (a rookie feat not repeated since Fran Tarkenton in 1961) as well as 10 other stunning achievements accomplished on his opening. Mariotta’s success is important for the 50+ Subway restaurants in Oregon who depend on the national advertising to drive sales. Below are the ads.
