CNN Tech Show Review Shows Mess Behind Internet TV
This is our business video pick of the video.
The big log jam is getting movies and live sporting events through the internet. The producers don’t want to give away such content for free, and so they hold back content access through the internet. This consumer wish for access to movies and sporting content on demand is a huge challenge to cable companies, as they work hard just to make a small profit on bundled services. I liken Cable companies’ challenge to that of newspapers and the internet. Once content is sold unbundled, cable companies are going to take a hit because consumers will shift to on demand, individually priced content.
Net neutrality may actually work against consumers as cable companies probably have the wherewithal under this regulatory scheme to skew government regulations against internet access to unbundled content.
