The March and April numbers will probably be better thanks to the expiring federal incentives, the late spring and summer will tell us a lot about whether the fledgeling recovery can help counteract the continuing fallout of the sustained high unemployment rate.

Looks like Portland started sliding later than other cities but are now lagging behind in the recovery. Makes you wonder about those claims Portland is better off because of its restrictive land use zoning and planning. Seems like a central planning biased Government like Oregon’s can just as easy encourage overbuilding as the private unhibited market.
