Developer closes, 55 laid off

J.R. Johnson, a Portland company that focused on disaster restoration, is closing its doors by Oct. 31 and laying off 55 employees, according to The Portland Business Journal [6]. Watterson Environmental Group in Illinois, parent company of the business at 9425 N. Burrage Ave., gave no reason for the closure. J.R. Johnson, founded in 1970, cleaned up damage from floods, fires, mold, asbestos, lead, and other biohazards.
