WA hit with business “Minutes” scheme [5]
By Oregon Better Business Bureau [6]

Businesses in Washington state are the target of confusing solicitations from Corporate Records Service of Tumwater, Wash., also known as Labor Law Poster Service [7]. Official-looking notices request that companies pay $100 to $125 to file their “Annual Minutes.”

Better Business Bureau warns that these requests are not from Washington Secretary of State.

BBB serving Alaska, Oregon and Western Washington has received similar reports from other BBBs on Compliance Services [8] in California and Corporate Records Service [9] in Illinois. In some cases, notices include the email address ending with “@corp-records.com [10].”

Most states require companies to file annual reports with the Secretary of State or business licensing departments; do not confuse these legitimate annual report requests with unnecessary requests for “Annual Minutes.”
