The 2011 NFIB/Oregon Small Business Summit concluded its third day with Cheryl Myers, Director of Economic and Business Equity within the office of the Governor and Dwayne Johnson, chair of the Oregon Small Business Advisory Council, participating in a panel discussion on reviving Main Street, mom-and-pop firms by creating access to small business resources within state government. State Rep. Dennis Richardson complimented the panel discussion by presenting Oregon’s Plan for Prosperity. The Summit ended on an inspirational note from nationally acclaimed artist Rip Caswell who has won many prestigious awards for his sculptures. An NFIB member, Caswell delivered The Art of Perseverance a most appropriate presentation highlighting how small business owners, against all odds, persevere. Jonathan Williams from the American Legislative Exchange Council and author of Rich States, Poor States 2011 was a noon speaker.
