Chamber cheers Blacklisting CRA vote

U.S. Chamber of Commerce,

U.S. Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President of Labor, Immigration, and Employee Benefits Randy Johnson issued the following statement regarding Senate passage of H. J. Res 37, a Congressional Review Act resolution disapproving of the Federal Acquisition Regulations that implement President Obama’s Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces executive order:

“The purpose of the regulations implementing President Obama’s grossly defective and unconstitutional executive order was to give unions another source of leverage against employers for organizing or contract negotiations. This is a perfect example of a regulation that deserves to be struck down by the Congressional Review Act. The executive order was resurrected from the Clinton administration, and the CRA’s prohibition on any substantially similar regulation means this concept should not come back. The Chamber applauds the Senate and the House for passing this critical CRA resolution and we look forward to President Trump signing it.”
