Comcast: Celebrity Grimm finale at Doernbecher

Comcast News Release,

The Portland-based cast and crew of NBC’s “Grimm” will, for the last time, celebrate the star-studded “Grimm Gala” on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017 to benefit the children and families of OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. Presented by Comcast and NBCUniversal, the sold-out event is a fundraiser for the Grimmster Endowment, which supports uncompensated care, travel, lodging, and other services integral to the care and comfort of OHSU Doernbecher’s patients and families in need. This is the sixth and final season of “Grimm,” which has been a longstanding hit for NBC.

“Grimm” actor Sasha Roiz, who plays Captain Sean Renard, inspired both the Grimmster Endowment and the “Grimm Gala.” “As this is our final season of ‘Grimm,’ I have extraordinary expectations for this year’s Gala,” said Roiz. “We plan to leave the Grimmster Endowment well financed, as a lasting gift to the children and families of Oregon for their warm welcome over the past six years.”

This is the third year that Comcast and NBCUniversal have underwritten the “Grimm Gala,” ensuring that every penny raised that evening goes to the Endowment. Last year’s Gala raised $386,000. A portion of those funds came from the sale of one-of-a-kind merchandise created by Nike, which was auctioned at the Gala. Nike will repeat that opportunity for Gala attendees this year, with some new, limited-edition shoes and outerwear created specifically for “Grimm” and the Gala.

As host of the Gala, Comcast’s Regional Senior Vice-President Rodrigo Lopez says the company’s commitment to community investment in Oregon and Southwest Washington is deep. “It has been an honor to present the ‘Grimm Gala’ and contribute to such a worthy cause. On behalf of the 2,000 Comcast employees who call Oregon/SW Washington home, we will continue to invest in the communities we serve.”
