U.S. Chamber of Commerce Senior Vice President of Labor, Immigration, and Employee Benefits Randel K. Johnson issued the following statement on President Obama’s veto of S.J. Res. 8, a Congressional Review Act resolution, to overturn the National Labor Relations Board’s (NLRB) “ambush election” rule:
“The NLRB’s ‘ambush election’ rule unfairly favors unions, strips employers of basic legal rights, and forces employers to provide union officials with personal information about their employees that will then be used to target potential recruits.
“By rejecting Congress’ effort to overturn the ‘ambush election’ rule, the president is choosing special interest unions over the rights of American workers and refusing to restore much needed balance and fairness to the NLRB.”
